I haven’t had much opportunity to post any updates lately as I am adjusting to working full-time. But, as I have some time before I have to catch my bus home, I thought I’d make a post at work.
I’m having difficulty with my exercise routine as I am now stuck at a desk most of the day, which hasn’t been good for my weight loss. I actually had my first weight gain last week at my TOPS meeting. A little discouraged, but I’m not giving up. I’m working on ideas to get more exercise into my day. Like walking around the lunch room for my breaks, at least a little bit might help. Trying to get some things situated to do some exercises on the weekends. Still trying to find my walking DVD. I know I packed it, but it seems to have been eaten by the dust mites or something, it just isn’t in my suitcase
. Gotta dig out the suitcase and go through it totally!!
Another challenge for me is that my new job has a functioning cafeteria from 8am to 3pm which will make tonnes of food daily: Bagels, sandwiches, pasta, pizza, fries, burgers, wraps, etc etc. Anything you can think up they probably will make it. Which is verry harrd to reeesiist!! I’ve done good so far, but just coming into the lunch room to eat my meals I can smell everything they cook.
Another thing I have trouble with now is drinking enough water. Where I’m at my desk constantly I forget to drink my water, even though I have it there. I get so wrapped up in my orders that I don’t drink anything.
So, adding all these things up, you can see why I had a gain. I’m really working on curtailing that in the butt though. I do more planning at night now, making sure I have enough food with me so I won’t be tempted to eat something from the cafeteria. I just have to get more exercise!
Well, that’s all for me for the moment, I don’t wanna push the time too much and miss my bus home

Hey, I will tell you what Coach and Aaron have told me when I first moved. You are going through a major life adjustment. Things will seem crazy for a bit. Coach even said that I should not be surprised if it took me 1-2 months to figure out my new routine…
So give yourself some grace for that. DOn’t ignore everything, jsut know that moving as you have is a HUGE adjsutment, physically, mentally and emotionally. Grace my friend…Grace..
Also, have you thought about making a healthy version of something at the cafeteria you would like….such as a burger…You could totally make a turkey burger and bring that (assuming you have access to a microwave). It sounds like you are doing good as far as planning goes…I work in a service environment where customers often bring us treats…talk about temptation…
Oh water…to help me for a while once, to get in the habit of drinking…I set a timer..every 10 minutes it would go off and I would take a sip…then reset it….pretty soon you will be in the habit of reaching for that water bottle…
Keep going lady…you are doing grate!!
Wow! I hadn’t thought of any of that. But you’re right. I do have some adjusting to do. And yes, the cafeteria has refridgerators to store lunchbags and a lot of microwaves to heat anything. I’ve actually started to do that, take in my lunch. It’s just having to come into the cafeteria in the mornings and smelling all the cooking is a bit hard to avoid!!
Next week I start my new shift and the cafeteria will be closed for most of my breaks, they close at 3 and I have my first break around 4 so I should be good!!
Thanks so much for the encouragement!
yikes! Great! You are doing Great…not grate!
One more more thing…I am honored that you have me on your blogroll…Thank You!
